Purpose

The purpose is to be a community service booster organization which seeks to support the Ponte Vedra High School Band and Color Guard program as well as the high school music program. The PVHS Band Boosters shall promote the interests of the students of the band/color guard and music programs of Ponte Vedra High School through providing organizational, educational, and financial support. This organization shall exclusively follow the charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code as a non-profit organization.

PONTE VEDRA HIGH SCHOOL (PVHS)
BAND BOOSTERS, INC. BYLAWS

Article I – Name

The name of this organization shall be the PVHS Band Boosters, Inc. serving Ponte Vedra High School Band, Color Guard, and Music programs.

Article II – Purpose

The purpose is to be a community service booster organization which seeks to support the Ponte Vedra High School Band and Color Guard program as well as the high school music program. The PVHS Band Boosters shall promote the interests of the students of the band/color guard and music programs of Ponte Vedra High School through providing organizational, educational, and financial support. This organization shall exclusively follow the charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code as a non-profit organization.

Article III – Membership

Meetings: Meetings are to be held quarterly in the sponsor’s classroom. All members should attend all meetings. Officers are to conduct meetings according to the Rules of Order.

Members: The members shall consist of parents of current Ponte Vedra High School students. Members must observe all school rules and regulations, and support state standards and the direction of the administration.

Article IV – Officers

Officers: The Officers shall be the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary, who will make up the Executive Committee of the PVHS Band Boosters.

Election of Officers: Officers are to be elected at the end of each school year for the next fiscal year. Members may be nominated or nominate themselves for office. Members may vote for officers by ballot or by hand vote. Officers shall be elected for a one year term, with a limitation of two consecutive terms.

No Compensation: Officers shall not be compensated by the PVHS Band Boosters, nor shall they enter into any business arrangements or contracts during their term as an officer.

Article IV – Officers’ Duties

President: Conduct all meetings. Organize projects along with sponsor. Obtain approval for all BBO projects from appropriate authorities.
Vice President: Assist president on all projects and fundraising events.
Secretary: Record and distribute meeting minutes.
Treasurer: Count and monitor all monies collected and present a monthly report.

Article V – Amendments

The Bylaws may be amended at a regular quarterly meeting of the PVHS Band Boosters by two-thirds vote of members present. Any recommendations of changes shall first be presented to the Executive Committee for review, and members must be notified of the vote two weeks prior to the meeting.

Article VI – Termination

In the event of the dissolution of the PVHS Band Boosters, the residual funds and assets of the organization will be turned over to Ponte Vedra High School, also a 501(c)3 organization as described by the Internal Revenue Code, or to the St. John’s County school district for exclusive public purpose.
